Disgaea 2 game help thread
Just the same thing as in Overlords Castle, feel free to ask anything about the game and post your own strategies.
Here's a short guide about invisible switches required to unlock the Dark World gatekeeper.

You can only summon prinnies from the base panel on the next battle after the bill is pased, in return the bonus gauge only gives you items.

This question is about item world, and the pieces of the treasure map you can get...
I just finished my first cycle, and I've been looking online at different things I can do now(besides getting the different endings). One of the
things I've found out is that you can get treasure maps, from "pirates" in the item worlds, which just happen to show up randomly. Now, does it
matter how strong the item is? Im basically wondering if there's anything in particular I can do to have a better chance of getting the maps from
a pirate, or is it just like I said before, random? Lastly, you use these different pieces of the treasure map to get to the Land of Carnage, correct?
What exactly is that? I believe that's where you get Laharl, Fallen Angel Flonne, and Kurtis, correct? Sorry, aside from Darkworld, my knowledge
on most of the post-game stuff is limited, and I'm just not sure exactly what else there is to do ASIDE from Dark World.
Thanks for any/all help, and sorry for the long question. (:

16 Maps take you to Land of Carnage, not exactly sure what's there yet, I'll have to ask my friend.
The pirates are loosely based on how deep you are in the world, the deeper you are the more you can expect new pirates.
They give maps at random though you can' "increase" the chance of them showing by carrying maps in Item Worls.
As far a item strength, the stronger the item the deeper the world so yes I guess so.

Carry them on you... I think I read somewhere they have to be equipped, right? Or can they stay in your item bag?

I know you can equip them, but does equipping them increase the chance of seeing pirates? Or does just having it in your item bag do that?

Land Of Carnage
This question is for anyone who has unlocked the land of carnage... What the heck am I suppose to do while I'm there?
(I'm told that the secret characters join on certain chapters... does that mean im suppose to start a brand new cycle specifically for the land
of carnage? and also, is there other things to do OTHER THEN REDO previous levels on harder modes?

Heres another good question, is there any point to beating ALL of the dark world stages or is there nothing for beating that... other then the
satisfaction and not being able to do another playthrough..

Yup,there is.
After you've completed all the Dark World stages, you get Usagi's journal.
It is a unique rank 40 item that increases SP,INT,and RES.

Pretty much.
Not even I find that as an exciting reward.
Now if you could read it,that would make it worth it,but sadly, you cant.

Item world Pirates : The treasure maps, there are 18 in all 16 you get from regular item world and the other 2 in land or carnage item world.. i
think? I know you need 16 to get to land of carnage. Equipping maps to a character increases chances for pirates to appear, but the characters with
the maps dont need to appear on the field (You can equip extra chars with the maps and leave them in your base panel)
Land of Carnage : I dont think you need to do another cycle for the stages in Land of Carnage. W/e you have unlocked in regular stages are unlocked in
land of carnage. I was on my 2nd cycle and up to the final stage and was able to get a few extra people to join my team..
Ah, also certain pirates appear on certain levels, i saw a guide for it somewhere.. it was : http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/disgaea_2_pirates.txt

For some reason that link gets an error when you go to it,but Ive already seen it.
Earlier,I decided to go for the pirates that appear on floors 21+.
So I had brought out my characters with maps equipped. From floors 20 to 30,I got 3 pirate attacks.But...by the same pirates I had already beaten
before.
2 encounters with the Dancing Pirates.
And an encounter with a Ambling Pirate.

Well, what I did was go through subpoenas (get some extra felonies ^^) and waited 2-3 turns on each floor and going up to the highest level, even when
your one 21+ level areas the 1+ pirates still have a chance of popping, I went to the top to try and get every chance of meeting every pirate, getting
all maps took a whole weekend of non stop playing... btw Ambling pirates seem to pop the most..

I see.
Yes,Ambling do appear a lot.I have to run away though. They will always be higher than me,because of the whole "times whatever floor you are"
bit.Since its with all the pirates.
I got lucky, one got stuck in a corner, and I used a gunner and mage to nail him from far away.
Best partners,Mage and Gunner.

Actually I dont have any problems with killing any of the pirates, I did it where I transmigrated (reincarnated) my characters and go them to 32kish
attack at level 600ish, er at least I didnt have any trouble when I didnt have any "stronger mobs" bill passed. Actually I was pretty proud being
able to walk around not getting beat, then I walked into Land of Carnage and got slapped in the face :/ my chars range 600-630.

I havent even got mine that high yet..Ive been reincarnating as well.Atleast 3 to 4 times, with my team of 5 or 6 characters that I used often.
So yes,its a slow process when you are doing a group of characters, and Adel as well.
