The new Final Fantasy thread

The topic says it all.

But keep it on topic and keep the arguments, negtivity and dislike for characters or certain games down. No so and so "sucks so much" and so on. We know you have your opinons, keep your dislikes tasteful. I or Etna will edit or delate any out of hand negetive comments.

Now.. Discuss anything Final Fantasy which includes the NES, SNES, PS1, PS2 and future titles.

The movies and spinoffs may be discussed here also.

Have fun and feed your Dark Knights and Treat your monks with TLC.

In that case, maybe we should move the old one to an archive, or something rather than deleting it like we do the chains? Since there's actual information in it...

I recently picked up an FF3 NES rom--the original FF3--with a decent translation. The story up to the point I'm at? Four OnionKids fall in a cave. They try to find their way out, but are harassed by a talking crystal that tells them to save the world, that then gives them jobs and teleports them out. They then proceed to the next town, which is conveniently in mortal danger, which they have to save it from.

This is one of the worse Final Fantasies out there, from what I've seen so far of it.

Um... I don't think 3 has been remastered. Or even released outside of Japan. The only way I know of to get it is through Roms.

Yes, but there was a rumor that it was going to be released on the PS1 about five years ago, too, and that never happened, either.

>_<

there's a copy of Final Fantasy III in my local gamestore, admittedly it is actually FF6 and costs 70.

In response to Makhan in the other topic, i thought Vagrant Story was god awful and Xenogears didn't get released over here, either did Xenosaga.

Personal opinion doesn't stop a game from being well done. There are things that I don't like that I still respect for being excellent at what they're doing.

Makhan has a point there. Because I never really liked FFVIII, yet I still respect it for being a well done game title. No matter what my opinion is of it.

>.< I got bored so I finished 8 earlier. Squee! Favorite Final Fantasy ever. Ultimecia wasn't hard,it.just.took.forever. Plus my Rinoa and Irvine sucked,so when they came in,I killed em. In the very end,it was level 100 uber critical Zell against Ultimecia. XD

Oh, all my characters are level 100 in FFVIII, and the only GF I have that isn't is Eden, who's at like... level 84 or something. And doing like, 50,000 damage with boosting.

There's one thing I don't have out of that game, period. A power generator. Without it, I can't get Quistis's second to last limit break. Or maybe it's the third to last. Can't remember. DAMN YU BLITZES! GIMME MY POWER GENERATOR!

Does anyone else use strategy guides? It always feels like a total cheat, but some of the stuff is so damn well hidden it would be impossible without. I don't have enough free time to spend hours finding things out on my own! I have uni dammit!

I do,because I agree.I dont have time anymore like I used to in high school, where I would take my time, play the game once, then play it a second time to go back for all the stuff I miss. Now all I do is glance through the guide, mark down the stuff that interest me and I just get it all in one playthrough.

I really dont collect that many guides, the only ones I can remember are the FF7 guide[the black one made by Versus, that came with a poster xD] and FFT,I bought that FFT guide after I beat it though. It seems I missed a couple of things, besides Cloud,I saw that in a game magazine at the store, lol. FF7 I bought not too long, since it was my first rpg at the time.

Now I just look at GameFAQs,and I have to say, they really help, especially during college when I just want to beat the damn game and move on to the next.

....and you wonder why college people say they miss their high school days >>;

I still have the black FF7 guide book. I liked it more then the BRady Games one. Though my FF7 guide book has seen it's better days.

Though.. sometimes I don't like Guide books, because they feel like they are spoiling me with certain parts of the story.
